Our lead oncology program has advanced into its first clinical trial in patients. We are a small, fast-moving team building a company where individual ownership has outsized impact.
The Role
We are hiring a Manufacturing Technician II to build implant devices under aseptic conditions in our ISO 7 cleanroom in Cary. Working with our product development engineers, you will run routine builds independently for preclinical and first-in-human clinical studies across several programs, executing batch records in compliance with cGMP requirements, and you will help train new operators. You will also keep the cleanroom in its qualified state through cleaning, environmental monitoring, and accurate records. When the cleanroom is idle you may support adjacent laboratory work, with cleanroom work always taking priority. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with a growth path to Technician III and Lead.
What You'll Do
Aseptic manufacturing
- Run routine batch records independently for aseptic device assembly, sealing, and packaging, documenting each step as you go.
- Review completed batch records and logbooks as second person before quality review.
- Prepare and sterilize components, and perform the in-process checks defined in each batch record.
- Operate and care for cleanroom equipment such as freeze-dryers, analytical balances, centrifuges, ultrasonic baths, and biosafety cabinets.
Keeping the cleanroom qualified
- Perform environmental monitoring, trend the results, and report any excursion the same day.
- Clean and disinfect the cleanroom on schedule and keep logbooks current.
- Maintain your aseptic qualification, and train and help qualify new technicians.
- Execute routine equipment qualification and calibration steps under approved protocols.
Supply, records, and improvement
- Ship finished devices and test samples with temperature and chain-of-custody records.
- Maintain inventory of components, consumables, and supplies to meet build timelines.
- Open deviation and nonconformance reports, take part in investigations, and help update work instructions and forms.
What You'll Bring
Must have
- A high school diploma or equivalent and 2 or more years of hands-on aseptic, fill-finish, or cleanroom manufacturing experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or cell therapy production.
- Understanding of good documentation practices and the discipline to follow written procedures exactly.
- Steady manual dexterity for small components under magnification, and comfort with repetitive, detail-oriented work.
- Reliability, organization, and clear verbal and written communication.
Nice to have
- An associate's degree in a life science or related field.
- Experience with environmental monitoring, media fills, and gowning qualification.
- Experience training or qualifying other operators.
- Experience with lyophilization or handling of biologic drugs.
Location & Work Arrangement
This is a full time, in person role at our Cary, North Carolina development center. Most of the workday is spent in full gowning inside the cleanroom, where cosmetics, jewelry, and nail products are not permitted. Build and shipping dates occasionally require early starts or late finishes, paid as overtime. Initial training may include one to two weeks at another company site.
Compensation
Competitive hourly pay, overtime eligible, plus equity. As an early-stage company, we offer equity that gives you real ownership in what you help build.
