Product Development Associate
About Continuity Biosciences
Continuity Biosciences is advancing combination therapies through next-generation drug delivery technologies that go beyond conventional methods. Our technology portfolio ranges from nanofluidic systems for drug delivery to cell storage systems that enable donor/stem cell transplantation and immune modulation. We aim to de-risk and operationalize targeted technology platforms that will enable the ideal product presentation for novel therapies.
The Role
Continuity Biosciences is looking for a Product Development Associate to support our product development team. Based in Cary, North Carolina, this role will have the main responsibility of performing nonclinical studies to assist the development of local drug delivery products. The Product Development Associate role provides the opportunity to develop drug delivery devices for the clinic to help patients in need.
We are looking for a collaborative and highly motivated scientist to join our team. Working in a fast-paced startup environment, the Product Development Associate is flexible and a self-starter who can react quickly to problem solve in high-stakes situations during the development process.
What You'll Do
Reporting to the Scientist II of Product Development, the Product Development Associate will support the development team through a variety of responsibilities such as supporting and conducting in vitro and in vivo nonclinical studies, performing benchtop drug delivery testing with devices, and collaborating with external vendors and partners. In vitro work will include mammalian cell culture work, hydrogel bioprinting, and cell assay work. In vivo work will include large animal toxicology and safety testing, sample collection and processing, and documentation.
- Support the development and optimization of in vitro (tissue and cell-based) models for product testing.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering support team to test device prototypes.
- Optimize and use tissue-representative models for drug delivery optimization.
- Conduct and organize nonclinical experiments to support program needs.
- Organize collected biological samples to facilitate external vendor analysis.
- Organize data for clear communication of technical results to the product development team.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and reagents in a sterile laboratory environment.
- Document and monitor laboratory inventory of the supplies and reagents needed to conduct experiments.
- Write technical documents including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols, and reports.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology or Biomedical Engineering.
- 2+ years of laboratory experience in an academic or industry environment, preferably in product development (required).
- Demonstrated experience with drug delivery, devices, assay development, and standard laboratory techniques (e.g., mammalian cell culture maintenance, microscopy, analytical techniques).
- Experience in cancer biology, drug development, and 3D printing is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Well organized and detail oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
